TRANSITIONING YOUR WARDROBE TO SPRING

Tags: spring, style, Style Syllabus

Spring is always a tricky time of year, cold one day and warm and sunny the next.  It’s important to layer up and keep your look versatile!  You can still wear your winter basics to transition into your spring look seamlessly. Try adding a pop of seasonal color to your outfits like a scarf or accessory. Any trend piece also instantly updates your look.

Shoes in vibrant or pastel shades are sure to put a spring in your step.  Black pants or darker shades will keep the look from getting too wild. We love wearing ankle boots with a casual dress for a day of shopping or running errands. Nothing says “spring” like a fresh pair of white sneakers, even it all the snow hasn’t quite melted yet.

Here is how our stylists would wear some of our favorite basics for the season.

Seasonless Basics

Skinny Jean

SLINK Dark Wash Skinny Jeans | Eloquii Ruffle Blouse | Sole Society Bootie | Bauble Bar Tassel Earrings

Remember those skinny jeans you basically wore all winter long? Well, you still need them. Dark wash skinny jeans are a wardrobe staple that every woman should have as part of her casual wardrobe.  Pair them with almost everything in your closet, and then depending on the event, throw on heels, sandals, or boots to complete the look. A great option for business casual Fridays, pair these with a great white tank or tee and a fitted black blazer and some ankle boots for a look that’ll show them who’s boss.

Leggings

LYSSE Black Ponte Leggings | Karen Kane Raglan Top | Frye Slip on Sneaker | Mango Shopper

A tunic, cute colorful flats, and black leggings equal the coolest, comfiest errand-running outfit ever.  These leggings are a PLVSH client favorite.  Known for its tummy panel, which keeps you tucked in, without making you feel uncomfortable, these soft ponte leggings from Lysse are a must have for every closet.  You’ll wear them all season long and for years to come.   Pair this with a looser spring print top to balance out the form-fitting bottom.

Classic White Button up

Universal Standard White Button Down | Lost Ink Print Skirt | Nine West Classic Pumps | Floral Necklace

You can’t go wrong with a well fitting white button down shirt.  This classic and crisp piece is a staple for any closet and one that you’ll come back to time and time again.  Layer with a fun little camisole or bright cardigan. For an ultra-spring look tuck into a floral skirt.
